Student life
Questions before you choose a university
Useful questions before you choose a UK university: campus, pace, cost, travel and what happens after an offer.

The university’s name is only part of the choice. Student life also means how you get there, when classes run and what is asked of you after an offer.
About the place
Which city is the course taught in, not only where the university is based? Can you get there from your home, using the transport you already use? A large city does not automatically mean it fits you.
About time
Is the course daytime, evening or weekend? How often do you need to be present? If you work or have a family, a timetable that looks fine on paper can be hard to keep.
About money and the next steps
What fees are published for your course, and what support exists under the current rules? There is no amount that fits everyone. After an offer, what do you need to confirm, and by when?
